1Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, role, password authentication data, address, and profile information.
- Customer project details: project title, category/service, location, budget, description, uploaded images, contact details, and project history.
- Contractor details: business/profile name, services, categories, states/cities covered, bio, address, phone, email, years of experience, identity uploads, profile images, gallery images, subscription/points records, invoices, ratings, and work history.
- Payment and invoice records: invoice details, payment confirmations, references, amounts, status, approvals, balances, subscriptions, points, commissions, and escrow-related records.
- Communications: chats, notifications, support requests, emails queued through the platform, ratings, reviews, and activity logs.
- Technical data: device information, browser type, IP-related data, logs, cookies/local storage, pages visited, and usage activity.
2Why we use information
We use information to create accounts, connect customers with contractors, process project requests, show relevant jobs, manage invoices and payments, support subscriptions and points, improve safety, prevent fraud, send notifications, provide customer support, maintain audit records, improve the platform, comply with laws, and protect Skillland, users, and the public.
3Legal basis and consent
We process personal information based on user consent, contract necessity, legitimate platform/business interests, fraud prevention, safety, legal compliance, and dispute handling. By ticking the agreement checkbox, creating an account, submitting a project, or continuing to use the platform, you consent to this processing where consent is required.
4Sharing of information
Skillland may share limited relevant information between customers and contractors to help complete project requests, invoices, communication, payment tracking, ratings, and support. We may also share data with hosting providers, Firebase/Google services, email providers, payment processors, analytics/security tools, legal advisers, regulators, law enforcement, or other service providers where necessary.
5Customer contact details
Customer sensitive contact details may be stored separately from public project information and shown only to authorised admins, selected/assigned/unlocked contractors, or other authorised parties according to platform rules. However, no internet system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6Contractor profile visibility
Contractor profile details such as name, business name, categories, states/cities covered, years of experience, profile image, project gallery, ratings, and selected public details may be visible to customers and/or the public depending on profile settings and platform features.
7Data retention
We may retain information for as long as needed for account operation, project records, accounting, invoices, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance, audit history, and platform safety. Some records may remain after account closure where required for legitimate business, legal, or safety reasons.
8Security
We use technical and organisational measures such as authentication, Firestore rules, storage rules, access controls, and limited access to protect data. Users must also protect their passwords, devices, and account access. Skillland is not responsible for losses caused by a user’s failure to secure their account or device.
9User rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data. Some requests may be limited where records are needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, accounting, or platform safety.
10Cookies and local storage
Skillland may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies to keep users signed in, improve performance, remember preferences, protect security, and understand platform usage.
11Children and minors
Skillland is intended for users who can legally enter service arrangements. Minors should not create accounts or submit projects without appropriate parent/guardian involvement where required by law.
12Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Skillland after updates means you accept the updated policy.
