Skillland Nigeria operates as a digital marketplace and connection platform that helps customers discover, compare, communicate with, and receive quotations or invoices from independent contractors, artisans, technicians, service providers, and related professionals. Skillland is not a construction company, contractor, subcontractor, employer, agent, guarantor, insurer, project supervisor, engineer, architect, quantity surveyor, site manager, or safety officer for any customer, contractor, or project unless Skillland separately signs a written contract expressly accepting that role.
All contractors, artisans, technicians, and service providers on or contacted through Skillland are independent third parties. They are responsible for their own licenses, qualifications, tools, staff, transport, quotations, invoices, workmanship, safety, taxes, permits, insurance, materials, timelines, warranties, and compliance with applicable laws. Skillland may display profiles, ratings, verification badges, locations, categories, services, reviews, documents, images, or other information, but such display does not amount to a guarantee, warranty, endorsement, employment relationship, or assumption of liability.
Customers are responsible for choosing the contractor they want to work with, verifying suitability, confirming scope, price, timeline, materials, access, safety requirements, warranties, and any written agreement before work begins. Customers must provide accurate information when creating accounts, posting projects, submitting addresses, uploading images, confirming payments, rating contractors, and communicating through Skillland.
Skillland does not guarantee that any contractor will respond, accept, visit, quote, perform, complete, repair, refund, or deliver any work to a customer’s satisfaction. Skillland does not guarantee the accuracy of contractor claims, pricing, project estimates, availability, performance, workmanship, ratings, documents, images, or profile information. Any project arrangement is between the customer and the contractor.
Invoices, payment confirmations, partial payment records, escrow records, subscription payments, point purchases, commission records, and related dashboard statuses are platform records to help parties track transactions. They are not a guarantee that money has been received, released, refunded, or settled unless verified by Skillland or the relevant payment processor. Customers and contractors remain responsible for confirming payment details, bank references, receipts, and final settlement.
Any site visit, inspection, measurement, installation, repair, delivery, construction work, or physical service is done by the selected contractor or third party, not by Skillland. Customers and contractors are responsible for access control, security, personal safety, property protection, safety equipment, supervision, building approval, utility isolation, structural checks, and compliance with local rules. Skillland is not liable for injury, death, theft, damage, loss, delay, accident, negligence, defective work, unsafe work, failed work, property damage, or any event arising from physical services unless liability cannot legally be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Skillland, its founders, directors, employees, contractors, partners, agents, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, economic, reputational, or business losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, project delay, defective workmanship, contractor misconduct, customer misconduct, payment dispute, property damage, personal injury, or third-party action arising from use of the platform or services arranged through it.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, Skillland’s total aggregate liability shall be limited to the platform fee actually paid directly to Skillland by the affected user for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim, or ₦10,000, whichever is lower, except where Nigerian law requires otherwise.
Disputes between customers and contractors are primarily between those parties. Skillland may, at its discretion, provide records, communication history, invoice history, ratings, payment confirmation status, or platform support to help resolve a dispute, but this does not make Skillland a party to the dispute or responsible for the final outcome.
Skillland may suspend, block, restrict, verify, review, remove, or delete accounts, projects, invoices, messages, ratings, images, or profiles where there is suspected fraud, abuse, safety risk, non-payment, policy breach, legal risk, inaccurate information, or platform misuse.
Ratings and reviews are user opinions and may be moderated, hidden, approved, rejected, or removed by Skillland. Skillland does not guarantee that reviews are complete, current, error-free, or representative of future performance.
Skillland may be unavailable because of maintenance, hosting issues, network failure, software bugs, updates, cyber incidents, third-party services, or other events. Skillland does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent access.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skillland from claims, losses, damages, fines, costs, liabilities, and expenses arising from your project, work, account, documents, uploaded content, payment confirmation, contractor/customer relationship, breach of these Terms, violation of law, or misuse of the platform.
Use of Skillland is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information.
Skillland may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith support and negotiation. Where unresolved, the parties may proceed before a court or competent dispute resolution body in Nigeria.
