Confirm what the glass is doing

A shower enclosure, office partition, shopfront, railing panel and decorative mirror do not require the same glass specification. Before pricing, define the location, dimensions and whether the glass is structural, protective, decorative or simply separating spaces.

Thickness and safety glass

Ask the installer to state the glass type and thickness clearly. Toughened or laminated glass may be appropriate for locations where breakage could create a safety risk. Hardware such as hinges, patch fittings, channels and handles should also be specified rather than described generally.

Access around Lagos buildings

Large panels can be difficult to move through narrow staircases, lifts or completed interiors. Sites in busy commercial areas may also have restricted delivery periods. Where panels are installed at height, lifting and safe access arrangements should be included in the planning.
