Start with a scope that can be checked

A request for water treatment becomes easier to compare when the customer first settles the water source, observed problem, intended use and whether a recent water test is available. Keep those points in the written brief so the provider can explain the method and any information that still needs site confirmation.

Check access and coordination before mobilisation

The proposed method should fit the actual property. At the Kano project site, ask the water treatment provider to review space for treatment vessels, drainage for backwashing or cleaning, power where needed and access for future servicing and explain any condition that could change the sequence or preparation work.

Use one scope to compare different providers

For water treatment, compare responsibilities as carefully as the price. The proposal should cover testing if included, proposed treatment stages, equipment sizes, media, installation, commissioning and replacement schedule and identify exclusions, return visits or related work that may be handled by someone else.

Use completion checks, not appearance alone

Final payment should follow a real completion check. For water treatment, check treated water against the agreed objective, learn the maintenance routine and keep model/media details for servicing; if part of the result can only be confirmed through normal use, agree how that follow-up will be handled.
